Aims of the subject: to acquire an adequate level of English orientated towards students´ field of study

Subject matter:

1.     Introductory lesson – information on the course, credit requirements;

2.      Lesson 1 –  Our land is your land!, avoiding repetition (NHW)

3.     Lesson  1 –  The American dream, reduced infinitives (NHW)

4.     Lesson  2 –  Never lost for words!, tense review (NHW)

5.     Lesson  2 –  “The Importance of Being Earnest”, phrasal verbs (NHW)

6.     Lesson  3 –  Big Business, adverb collocations (NHW)

7.     Lesson  3 -   An interview with Anita Roddick, comparing statistics (NHW)

8.     Lesson  1 –   Tourism services (English for Tourism)

9.     Lesson  5 –   Convention tourism (English for Tourism)

10. Lesson  6 -    Eurovelo, The European Cycle Route Network (English for     tourism)

11. Lesson 7     Agrotourism (English for Tourism)

12.                       Revision

13.                       Credit test

 

Assessment: credit based on three written tests
