Subject: Practical English II – CAJ2

Prerequisites: to have relevant knowledge of English

Aims of the subject: to acquire an adequate level of English oriented towards students´ field of study

Subject matter:

1.     Introductory lesson – information on the course, credit and exam requirements; Revision

2.     Lesson 4 –  Celebrity, synonyms and antonyms (NHW)

3.     Lesson 4 –  An interview with Holywood star Lisa Minelli (NHW)

4.     Lesson 5 – Love is...? proverbs and poetry (NHW)

5.     Lesson 5 –  A romantic meeting, ways of adding emphasis (NHW)

6.     Lesson 6 –  Newspeak, passive constructions (NHW)

7.     Lesson 6 –  An interview with foreign correspondent, phrasal verbs (NHW)

8.     Lesson 12 – Tourism Accommodation Establishments (English for tourism)

9.     Lesson 13 – Restaurants and eating out (English for Tourism)

10. Lesson 15 – Travel insurance (English for Tourism)

11. Final consolidation

12. Final test – reading, listening, grammar and vocabulary

 

Assessment: credit based on the final test, oral exam
